Bending Backwards

The backbending family of postures are nuanced and complex, and there are many “ingredients” that must be combined in order to perform them safely and effectively – such as range of motion in the spine, length in the quadriceps and hip flexors, just the right amount of abdominal engagement, and often deep shoulder flexion paired with wrist extension. 

This workshop will include an interactive exploration of the strength, stamina, flexibility, and concentration necessary for expansive and safe backbending. All levels are welcome and modifications will be offered.
